Cable operated, magnetically coupled shutters. These shutters were developed to enable them to be located in any position inside a vacuum, only requiring an available port in the chamber.

A big problem with traditional fixed position shutters, is the swing of the blade can interfere with components in the chamber, often resulting in comprising shutter function and limiting the number of devices in a chamber.
