Semiquip design and supply SiC coated graphite elements for use in oxidising environments, up to to 1400°c, often similar or the same as our graphite elements, with the exception of an added protective layer of SiC. The SiC layer produces a coating with high electrical resistance, therefore the area of electrical connection must remain uncoated, for this reason the contact area must remain below 450°c to avoid oxidation of the bare graphite, this requires special mounting and heat-sinking of the power connections, to a water cooled mounting plate.
